Offline place & station search
Search for places and stations entirely offline. The search index for each region downloads with the region, so it works with no connection — and it’s diacritic-insensitive, so accents are optional.
Before you start
- Place search uses a per-region index that downloads alongside the region (see offline maps).
- Station search uses the downloaded transit timetables (see transit).
Do this
- Open the search field and type a place or station name.
- Results appear as you type — tap one to jump to it on the map, or (for a station) open its departure board.
Good to know
- Diacritic-folded: typing without accents still matches — e.g. “lodz” finds “Łódź”.
- Fully offline: the index is a compact per-region file downloaded with the region; nothing is queried online.
- Stations span feeds: station search covers every downloaded country’s timetable, so cross-border hubs are findable.
If something’s off
- A place isn’t found → make sure the region covering it is downloaded; the search index only covers downloaded regions.
- A station isn’t found → download that country’s timetable under Data → Public transport.
