On-device AI assistant & offline translation
A chat assistant grounded in your live app data, plus offline translation of menus, timetables and speech. Everything runs on your device — no server, and your chat and translation content are never sent anywhere.
Before you start
- Availability depends on your device: either Apple Intelligence on a supported (A17-class) device, or a downloadable local model you pick in the app. If chat is unavailable, the app tells you the actual reason (device / Apple Intelligence off / model downloading).
Do this
- Chat — ask about your trip; answers are grounded in app data (search places, plan a route, next departures, weather and daylight, regional content).
- Translate — tap the Translate button to OCR a menu or timetable with the camera, translate it offline, and read the result as a card.
- Voice translate — two-way spoken translation, and a “speak a phrase” mode.
Good to know
- Fully offline, no server. The assistant and translation run on-device.
- The downloadable local model covers languages (such as Polish and Czech) where Apple’s model may be gated out.
- Domain glossaries (hut food, rail notation) improve translation of trail- and travel-specific terms.
